Post to Google+ (G+) using SMS | Feature For INDIAN Users

It seems that often when a new service from Internet giants such as Google or Facebook is launched, all the cool features are primarily US-centric with the rest of the world left high and dry.
Hence, it is quite surprising to see Google offering an exclusive feature to Indian Google+ users through which they can update their stream using text messages.

Enabling the service

To update Google+ through text messages, you will have to initially add your phone number in Google+ settings, following which Google will text you a verification code which has to be added in the Google+ settings. Optionally, you can also add a security PIN for extra security and avoid spoofing of text messages.
Further, you can also modify the notification settings so that you can be notified by any specific activities on Google+ such as mentioning your name, commenting on your post, adding you to a circle, tagging you in a photo and more.
While these notifications are also available to US users, Indian users get the additional benefit of being able to post into their Google+ stream by texting a message to 9222222222 at no extra cost. This update will be visible to all your circles by default and you will be charged as per the standard message rates from your carrier.
You can also have better control of your posts by sharing them with only specific people or circles, by using a few short codes which can be appended to your text messages..
Quite honestly, it does make a lot of sense to offer SMS posting capabilities to Indian users since smartphone penetration is still pretty low and a lot of users still rely on SMS to converse with their friends/family.
That aside, Facebook has also tried to tap into this market over the past few years with several initiatives such as Facebook Zero and Facebook text messages, but it has very few mobile operators onboard whereas this SMS feature from Google seems to be carrier-agnostic, which could provide an competitive advantage to Google in the forthcoming months.

How to Identify the Fake Email Id

Identifying the Fake Email Id

Do you know that it is possible to mail to a person using any person’s email id? It is done using the PHP script. Besides, many invalid IDs are used for the hacking purpose. Hackers use these IDs to get personal information from any people and then use those for illegal purposed. So we will have to know how to find out or identify these fake IDs. In this post, I am trying to give you a small guideline on this topic.

The fake emails can come to you saying anything attractive. See the following screenshot.

Here, an email has been received from a fake email address. Although it is very tough to identify such type of fake email address, you can follow some methods to perform that. One method is sending mail to that person and the second method is to use the web service.

If you suspect any email address, then just send a reply to that email address. If that email address becomes fake and has no existence, then a failure message will come to you through which you can become sure about that email address.

Email address check is a very good email checker service though which you can easily check the validity of any email address. This is a very easy process. Just go to this site (http://tools.email-checker.com/). Then you will get a page where there is an input field for email address. Just put your email address there and click on the button named “Check..” The screenshot is given below.

If the email address is valid, then you will a see a result below the input box. If the email address is valid then you will see a green tick marked icon before the email address and if the email address is invalid then you will see a cross marked icon before the email address. See the following screenshots. In the first screenshot, a valid email address is shown and in the second screenshot an invalid email address is shown.

Here you will have to remember a thing. You can check total 3 email addresses in 24 hours using this website with one IP. If you use proxy, then that is different thing.

Facebook Fearing For One Google Plus Feature

While tech pundits are widely praising Google’s new Plus product, I’ve found the one feature that could take away from Facebook where it’s most dominant: Time on the site.

Facebook users are known for staying on the site for over half an hour a day, something no other site could compete with… until now.
\
To be honest, my gut reaction after using Google Plus was initially, “Why on earth would anybody switch to this from Facebook?”

However, when I loaded up Google Finance as I do every morning, I suddenly realized that I was asking the wrong question. The reality is that users won’t have the option of not using Google Plus.

Google already has more users than Facebook, over one billion. They aren’t going to suddenly leave Facebook in droves, they’re just going to spend more time on all the sites in Google’s network. That big notifications box in the top right of all Google sites is the reason why.

As I’m browsing around Google-powered sites there’s occasionally a red notification alert that pops up and immediately grabs my attention. Soon enough I’m clicking through the various notifications and seeing what my friends have shared and who has recently begun sharing with me.

It’s a not-so-subtle tactic by Google to quickly increase the amount of time you end up spending on Google properties. It’s also an easy way to immediately add social discovery to all of Google’s products.

The notifications box is also something that Google could leverage to steal one of Facebook’s most valuable assets: developers.

Something like 30 percent or more of all Facebook users’ time on the site is from applications. While Zynga, which is reportedly filing to go public this week, has built a multi-billion dollar business on top of the platform, it has little loyalty to the company.

The primary reason is that Facebook is now taking a 30 percent cut of every game developer’s business. By contrast, Google, which brings in over $30 billion in revenue each year, could easily afford to let developers keep all the money they generate.

Add in the fact that Google also has the fastest growing mobile distribution channel of any company (Android) and you suddenly realize the power that the search giant has to woo developers.

No, Google Plus is not a “Facebook killer,” but despite the company’s numerous failed attempts at getting into social media, the new Plus product gives users no other option but to accept the fact that Google is becoming exactly that: social.

This is clearly just the start, though. Once Google Plus becomes stable and more widely used, the company will attempt to compete with Facebook where it matters most by building an entire social platform. The notifications are just one indicator of what lays ahead.

Readers, have you tried Google Plus yet — do you think it has the potential to cut into your use of Facebook?

Disclosure: I own shares of Google.

Update
Looks like I was dead on with the platform prediction … there’s now code already showing their interest in launching games within the system.
